Childhood Memories

A little child hides in the darkness of their closet or under their bed

So afraid of what their mommy and or daddy will do to them -

In The night or day

These are innocent and helpless babies and children of Abuse

and neglect.

Childhood memories are not always pleasant for some children.

for some children.

Sometimes they are filled with terror and abuse with little good.

They leave emotions and all-too-often Physical scars that never

Go away or disappear over time.

Childhood memories are filled with nightmares and mortal fear

For their little lives.

The things these children have to endure can tear the very fabric

Of their souls;

Sometimes never to be patched; sometimes bitter and laying like

A precious shattered vase upon the floor.

They become the “Humpty- Dumpties” of this world and cared less about;

With all the pieces not being found to put them together again.

Some childhood memories like these have made some stronger

And more determined to protect another child from what they endured.

Some have watched their siblings be sorely abused and sometimes

Slaughtered – for no valid reason.

Abuse and neglect leave everlasting scars on their fragile

Bodies and souls;

Some are too weak in spirit and mind to fight back because they -

Like so many others - have had their spirits totally broken.

Childhood memories should be made up of Love and caring and Laughter;

Not tears or pain or screams of terror that make them tremble at the

Smallest of noises or movements.

Their memories should be made of friends and family and playtime;

Not of fear for what will happen to them the next time a parent abuses

Them.

Or the next time they get locked in a cold dark cellar or cage for days on end.

Or starving because they are declared by their parents “Not worth being fed”.

Childhood memories should be made up of joyous holidays; like Christmas

Easter or Thanksgiving;

Instead of being confined to a room or made to watch while every one ate;

Or got new clothes for Easter or toys for Christmas, while they got none.

As parents of Children, I ask you now, “How are you treating your children?”

They are precious gifts from God and they depend on you for love and care.

They are not to be abused, neglected or sold for some selfish gain;

like a new SUV or a new house or drugs.

They are not to be traded for slavery, money or drugs,

If you do not want them, then don’t do things to have them !

And if you do, then love them enough to give them up to a

Family that will!

Children are not the whipping posts for your immaturity

Or insecurities or drug habit !

They are not responsible for the problems and ills in your life

YOU ARE!

It is time to be an adult and face responsibility – especially where a child

is concerned.
