JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Monday - February 2, 32 B.C. It has been reported that Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Mary and Joseph, carpenter, who resides in Nazareth, has been seen from Jerusalem, to the Gaderenes and beyond. Reports are coming in of the miracles that He had performed. One such report came in from the village of Cana. It seems that Jesus and his mother, along with his disciples were invited to a wedding feast there. Apparently, during the wedding feast celebration, the wedding wine ran out and that put things in a sticky situation according to Jewish custom. (John 2:1-11). His mother asked Jesus to intervene and save the wedding feast from disaster. His mother told him that they had no wine. He said to her, “Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come.” His mother turned to the servants and told them to do whatever Jesus asked of them. There were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins (wooden barrels that could hold 9 gallons of liquid) apiece. Jesus told the servants to fill the waterpots with water. They did as they were instructed filling them all to the brim. Jesus then instructed them to draw it out and bring it to the governor (Master of Ceremonies). When he tasted the water that Jesus had transformed into wine; the governor called the bridegroom and both agreed it was the best wine they ever had. Then the governor said to the bridegroom.” very man at the beginning does set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but you have kept the good wine until now. This, apparently, is the beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed in him. I don’t know about you, but this reporter is going to keep tabs on this up and coming Rabbi
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Tuesday - June 9th 32 B.C. Good morning. On our quest to find out who this Jesus really is, we found him sitting on the Mount of Olives, speaking to a crowd of thousands of people. We decided to listen. Here is what we heard: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell. It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5 3-48) This man called Jesus is amazing! He has crowds of people who follow him every where and hang on his every word. This reporter wonders, however, how many are really listening to what he is saying. I know that I am and it inspires me. Hmmm, I wonder if he is the Son of God that was prophesized hundreds of years ago?
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Friday - November 17 32 B.C. IThe news reports keep coming in from all over the place. We are receiving reports that this Jesus is healing the sick, causing the lame to walk, giving the blind site and raising the dead. We are also getting reports…..Hold on, we have breaking news! There seems to be some sort of upheaval at the temple in Jerusalem! We go now to our reporter on the scene, Mary Magdalene. “Thank you. It seems that the House of God has become a market place and a den of thieves and Jesus is highly upset. He is presently turning over the tables and chairs of the moneychangers and the seats of the doves.. Hold on, let’s listen to what Jesus is saying, (Jesus) “ It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” (Matthew 21:12-13) It seems that people have made a mockery of the House of God and have been very irreverent and highly disrespectful of their creator and his house. Back to you Nicodemus. Thanks Mary. We will keep you updated as things progress. This just in. Apparently the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. When the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were very displeased, They said unto him, “Hear you what they say?” Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? Having said that, he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.” (Matthew 21:14-17) It is also apparent that the presence of Jesus in Jerusalem has the roman governor highly upset. He thought that taking away the garments of the chief priests and scribes, as well as placing the medallions symbols of Caesar in the temple would have curbed their enthusiasm and their following of Jesus. It didn’t and the chief priests and scribes were also against Jesus because, according to them, he didn’t adhere to the laws of Moses and all the Jewish customs as they thought he should. This news reporter and newspaper have decided to make it our mission to find out who this Jesus is that is causing such a stir.
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Wednesday - March 22, 33 B.C. Good Afternoon, The news is not good. It is rumored that the Chief priests (I am sorry to say that I am one) are beginning to plot against Jesus and the roman authority is also in an upheaval of Jesus and what he has been teaching and doing across the country. They also want to be rid of him and I fear that they shall succeed. The feeding of 5,000 men, their wives and children by Jesus is reported from all over the country. Jesus, as told to this reporter, had performing a miracle, by feeding a crowd which probably totaled 5,000 adults and children with only 5 loaves and two fish. The practice of a communal meal is one of the features of his ministry. During and following this miracle, Jesus appears to have been moved to thank God for the food and later to pray to God. He blessed the food in public. According to the reports received by this reporter, Jesus took loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all and likewise of the fishes as much as they would." In a similar manner, we have also received reports that Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead! One of the witnesses wrote that “Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that you hear me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me." Many other witness back this up and some ran and shouted this to all parts of the country. This only agitated the Roman officials and the temple authorities, all the more. It is for this reason and what Jesus has been doing over the past three years that have both authorities wanting him “out of the way”. This reporter from a personal view, finds that Jesus has done nothing but good and has harmed no one. The roman and temple authorities say he is undermining them and cause a rebellion.
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Friday – April 5, 33 B.C. This week, beginning tomorrow, is the Passover week. As usual Jerusalem and the temple will be swarming with people coming in from all parts of the country to honor their Jewish traditions of Passover. Passover remembers when God freed his people from the Egyptian slavery with his chosen leader, named Moses. They remember the plagues that were brought upon Egypt for its rebellious Pharaoh. The Plague that started this Passover during this time was during the ninth and final plague. The ninth plague was a blanket of darkness that enveloped all of Egypt except for Goshen, where the children of Israel lived. Finally at midnight on the 15th of Nissan all firstborn in the land of Egypt began dying, including the firstborn of King Pharaoh, exactly as Moshe had warned. At this point, Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said to them: "Arise, go m out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve God as you have said, and go, and bless me also." The Jews departed Egypt in haste. They assembled in groups to eat the roasted paschal lamb and the unleavened bread (matza). Then after the sun rose on the 15th day of Hebrew month of Nissan, the Jewish nation rose together to leave the land of Egypt. According to reports, it was just before the ninth plague that the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. (Exodus Chapters 12–13)
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Friday - April 5, 33 B.C. Special Report: Jesus Rides into Jerusalem on a Donkey! It appears that Jerusalem is partially in an uproar and partially celebratory. Jesus arrived on Saturday with his disciples, amid throngs of people singing loud Hosanna’s, for the week’s Passover feast. You could hear the people singing and praising Jesus even before he entered the gate to the city. Others asked “who is this?”. You can see for miles people following him and waving palm branches, laying their clothes on ground in front of him. Instead of his usual walking into the city of Jerusalem to go to the temple, he has arrived riding a donkey. This has highly upset the temple Priests. So much so that they approached Jesus demanding he silence the people. The chief Priest said to Jesus: “Hearest thou what these say?” Jesus said them, “Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” (John 12:12-14; Matthew 21:16; Luke 19:40) This was prophesized by Zechariah hundreds of years before Jesus was even born. (Zechariah 9:9) Unfortunately on that day was another event that took place. Barabbas, the zealot, decided to try and force Jesus’ hand and to overthrow the Roman Government. He assembled all is other zealot friends and took to the streets of Jerusalem with a vengeance. Unfortunately, for him the Roman Legions were greater in numbers with the militaristic advantage.Barabbas’ army took a great loss and he was imprisoned.
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Monday – April 8, 33 B.C. Breaking News! Due to the circumstances concerning Jesus, here in Jerusalem, we will be reporting the events, concerning Jesus and this Passover week. Last night Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples. During the Passover meal, Jesus spoke of betrayal of him by someone present in the room. This upset all the disciples, except one. Jesus turned to him and told him to do what he must do and to do it quickly. That person was Judas Escariot. Judas left and Jesus and the remaining disciples went to the Garden of Gethsemane when they had finished the Passover meal.(Matthew 26: 14-44) Meanwhile, Judas ran to the temple priests and told them where they could find Jesus. They gave him thirty pieces of Silver for the information and told them that he would lead them to Jesus. Jesus woke the disciples, who had fallen asleep and told them that his hour had come. Jesus and the disciples watched as a steady stream of torch light drew closer to them. At the head of the multitude of temple guards, armed with swords and staves, was no one else but Judas. Judas earlier had told the chief priests and elders that he would give them a sign as to who Jesus was. He told them, “Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he:hold him fast. Judas came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him and Jesus said to him, “Friend, wherefore art thou come?” Then temple guards came and laid hands on Jesus and took him. This angered the disciples, as well as upset them and one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword. He struck a servant of the high priest's, and cut off his ear. Jesus told him, “Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Do you think that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?” In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, “Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. They that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled; but Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end. (Matthew 26: 45-58)
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Tuesday – April 9, 33 B.C. JESUS ON TRIAL! Just after midnight, the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; but found none. Yes, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, who said, “This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days!” The high priest rose, and said to him, “Have you nothing to say to this? What is it which these witness against you?” Jesus kept silent, saying nothing, The high priest answered and said to him, “I adjure (To charge a person to do something as though on oath.) you by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus said to him, “You has said: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” The high priest rent his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? Now you have heard his blasphemy. What think you?” They answered and said, “He is guilty of death”. Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others struck him with the palms of their hands, saying, “Prophesy unto us, you Christ, Who is he that hit thee? “ Meanwhile, Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, “You also was with Jesus of Galilee; but he denied before them all, saying, “I know not what you say.” Then he went into the porch. Another maid saw him, and said to them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.” Again Peter denied with an oath, that he didn’t know the man. After a while others came to him and stood by him. They said to Peter, “Surely thou also art one of them; for your speech betrays you. Peter began to curse and to swear, saying, “I know not the man.” Just as Jesus had told him during the Passover meal, that he would betray him three times before the cock crowed, the cock crowed. Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, “Before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times”. Peter left and wept bitterly. (Matthew 26:59-75)
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Wednesday – April 10, 33 B.C. Jesus’ Trial Takes On A Whole New Meaning To Justice These last few days have been unbelievable! This reporter wonders how someone could do such things to another human being! What’s worse is the fact that if he really is the Son of God, (and I believe He is) they have no idea of the ramification of their actions. I just hope that they stop before thing get anymore out of hand than they already are. This is not justice at all it is a conspiracy and an evil one at its best. This morning, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. They had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is to us? see you to that. Judas threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. The chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. They counseled together and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. That is why we now and will forever know the field it as the field of blood, to this day. Now the fulfillment or the prophecy spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.” Matthew 27:1-10) They have bounced Jesus from Pontius Pilate’s court to King Herod’s court and now back to Pontius Pilate’s court.
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Thursday 11 33 B.C. JESUS CONDEMNED! All week long I have been watching the proceedings concerning the trial of Jesus. I must say that I have never seen such a mockery of God and His laws as I have seen through out this whole trial. Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art you the King of the Jews? Jesus said unto him, You said it. When he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said Pilate to him, Do you not hear how many things they witness against you? Jesus never answered him. The governor marveled greatly. At that governor' feast it was the policy to release unto the people a prisoner of their choosing. They had then a notable prisoner by the name Barabbas. When they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Who do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? Pilate knew that it was the jealousy of Jesus by the Pharisees and the Temple’s Chief Elders that caused Jesus to be in the predicament He was now in. It should be noted that while Pilate sat n the judgment seat, his wife came to him and told him that he should have nothing to do with him because Jesus was just man. She told him of the nightmares she had about Jesus. Unfortunately, The chief priests and elders persuaded the Multitude that they should ask for Barabbas’ release and destroy Jesus. The governor asked the multitude, Which one they wanted him to release to them – Jesus or Barabbas? They said, Barabbas. Pilate paused for a moment and then said to them, What can I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all said to him, “Let him be crucified.” The governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out the more, saying, “Let him be crucified.” How unjust and evil this is! The very people that walked with Jesus and listened to him speak, seen his miracles and observed the biggest miracle that will ever go down in History. He raised the dead. How cold and callous these very people are and let us not forget evil. When Pilate saw that he couldn’t prevail and the people were screaming for Jesus to be put to death, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: You see to it. The People answered and said, “His blood be on us, and on our children.” Pilate had to relent and released Barabbas to them. He had scourged Jesus and delivered him to be crucified. The soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. They stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. When they had made a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head. They placed a reed in his right hand and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! With cursing and cruelty, they spit upon him, and took the reed, and struck him on the head. (Matthew 27:11-30) This is horrifying and terrible! They beat Jesus so badly that his flesh is open and raw! His eyes are nearly closed because of the brutality of the beating. His garments are covered with blood and are torn and tattered. His head id bleeding profusely from the crown of thorns that the soldiers had pushed into his head. This is beyond human comprehension and I can’t understand how God could allow this to happen.
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Friday – April 12, 33 B.C. An Unexcuseable And Tragic End! This is a dreadful day, here in the city of Jerusalem. The court and the people condemned Jesus and they let a Murderer go! This is not right! and there is something seriously wrong with this whole thing. I am devastated by what is happening and yet I am helpless to help him. After the soldiers had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They compelled him to bear Jesus’ cross because he was to weak to carry it any further. Now they are at the place called Golgotha (place of a skull). The shove Jesus to the ground and put him on the Cross like he was nothing more than a lamb that they will slaughter. Oh! This is so horrible. First, they strip him of his clothing and then drive the first nail into his left wrist. I can feel the pain and tears are filling my eyes. Then they put the second nail into his right wrist and the final nail through both his feet. Now they are standing the cross up and planting it into the hole they dug to hold the cross in place and securing it with heavy rocks. I continue to watch this horrific scene unfold and a he is hanging there on the cross, He says he is thirsty. They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted it, he would not drink. He asked His father to forgive them because they didn’t know what they were doing. While he is hanging there and dying on the cross, thee soldiers are at the foot of the cross gambling for his garments. To this reporter, it is the ultimate insult to a righteous man who did no harm to anyone. Again this was also fulfilled by the prophets of old who said, ”And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.” As we are sitting down and watching Jesus; they set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Standing here with me are, Mary, his mother who is weeping uncontrollably; Mary Magdalene, whom he cast 7 demons out of; John the lesser, one of the disciples and some of the other followers of Jesus. One each side of Jesus’ cross there are two thieves that ate being crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. Others passed by Jesus’ cross of Jesus and reviled him and shaking their heads. As they are doing this, you can clearly hear them say. ”Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.” To add further insult to injury the priests mocking him. Along with the priests, the scribes and elders are saying, “He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him. Now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.” The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. It is approximately the ninth hour Jesus is crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” Which translated is “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calls for Elias. Straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. Jesus, cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost (died). Folks, this is so horrible and heartbreaking I do not know if I will be able to continue with this report; but I know I must. This man, is suffering terribly and those of us who know him, can only watch helpless and in horror of the scene before us. This is so heartbreaking watching the very heart of his mother being torn to pieces by this. The ground is suddenly shaking here and I can hardly stand. As I look over to where the temple is, I can see the veil of the temple being torn in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth is still quaking, and the rocks are splitting. Wait! The graves of the already deceased are opening! This is unbelievable! The bodies of many of the saints have arisen out of the graves after their resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. When the centurion, and the others that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God.”Many women were there standing afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him. Among these are Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children. It was getting towards sunset and the beginning of the Sabbath. A rich man from Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple, went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. Joseph is taking the body and wrapping it in a clean linen cloth. This is the finality of this horrible week that this reporter will never forget. Joseph has laid the body of Jesus in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher. Now he has departed. (Matthew 27:31-60)
JN Gospel News Jerusalem, Israel Reporter: Nicodemus Sunday – April 14, 33 B.C. BREAKING NEWS! SPECIAL REPORT! Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting over against the sepulchre. It seems that the day after Jesus died, which followed the day of preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate saying, “Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command that the sepulchre be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.” Pilate said unto them, “You have a watch: go your way, make it as secure as you can. They came to the sepulchre and made it secure by sealing the stone, and set guards to watch to make sure that no one could open the grave. There seems to be quite a commotion at the burial place of Jesus. Here it is Sunday and the end of the Sabbath and its beginning to dawn on this first day of the week. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary had come to see the sepulchre. As they arrived there was a great earthquake and the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. The temple guards seem to be afraid of him and are shaking badly. Suddenly they have become as dead men. This is quite a site to see! I for one am wondering why an angel of the Lord would open the grave and sit on the stone he rolled back that sealed the grave. The angel must have know our thoughts and said unto the women, “Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there shall you will see him, as I have told you.” Both women are momentarily stunned, but look inside the tomb only to find it empty. I am looking inside the tomb where Jesus was buried and the only sign of him ever being in the tomb is his burial clothes which are neatly folded. Truly He has risen as He said he would! I am going with the women to see the response from the disciples when they hear this good news. We departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and ran to bring his disciples word. They went to tell his disciples and Jesus met them saying The women fell to their knees and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. I can’t believe my eyes Jesus is alive and standing right in front of the women, saying, “All hail”. Then Jesus said to them, “Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.” As they were going to tell the disciples this, some of the watch came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened. When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, saying, “You tell them, that His disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept. If this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you from all harm.” The soldiers took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. Meanwhile, the eleven disciples left to go into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. I have decided to follow the disciples to Galilee and continue with this report until the very end. Once again I saw Jesus and I still can’t believe my eyes. Yet there he stands with the marks of the thorny crown still on his head, the whole in his side from where a soldier pierced his side with a sword and the nail prints in his hands and feet! How can anyone continue to doubt that this is the Son of God. This is something I will never forget. Jesus is there waiting for them and they saw him, they worshipped him, but some doubted. Jesus is talking to them and I can hear Jesus speaking to them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28: 1-20) We all stood there in awe watching Jesus Ascend into Heaven to be with his father and sit at his right hand; just as he said he would. While we were standing there, an angel asked why we still were and told the disciples to go and do as the Lord had commanded. They all hugged each other and departed. They all hugged each other and departed. I tarried for a moment to make sure I would always remember what I saw and what he went through for us. This was the greatest gift of all. God made his son the sacrificial lamb for out sins and all we have to do is accept it and believe he is the son of God. This is something I will pass down to my children and grandchildren and for all generations to come. Before I go I would like to give you my testimony, if you will, with my first encounter with Jesus. As everyone knows,I am a Pharisees and a ruler of the Jews. I went to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that you do, except God be with him. Jesus told me, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” I didn’t understand what he was saying so I asked him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered and repeated, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it listeth, and you hear the sound thereof, but can not tell where it comes from and where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” Still puzzled by this, I asked him, “How can these things be?” Jesus said to me, “Are you a master of Israel, and know not these things? Verily, verily, I say to you, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and you receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and you believe not, how will you believe, if I tell you [of] heavenly things? No man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hates the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 1: 1-21) when I left I pondered these things and still didn’t fully understand it until Jesus was crucified and then rose from the dead. Now I know that He died for my sins and for the sins of the world. This reporter has traveled with Jesus for most of the three years of his Ministry. The last week of his life was horrific; but in the end he still won out over the evil and those who wanted him dead; because HE LIVES! Now, I think I am going to stop being a reporter and be a witness for Jesus, to all who will listen to me. Will you? One more thing to consider: Jesus’ broken body was the punishment for every sin you ever committed, His blood was the cleansing (or washing away of your sin), His death represented the end to your sin and His resurrection was the New Life in Him you now have or can have.
